Four singers from Oslo’s Kulturentusiastene perform: Angelica Voje,
mezzo-soprano, Janne Berglund, soprano, Eirik Roland Jensen, bass,
Patrik Landgren, baritone and pianist Timothy Shaidlin. Celebrating the theme of the sea and its profound influence on Norwegian culture, this concert opens with Mozart’s Soave sia il vento and travels through seminal musical tributes to Old Norse Mythology by Wagner, excerpts from Grieg’s only opera, Olav Trygvason, Ralph Vaughn Williams’ Riders to the Sea, and Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes and Billy Budd. Presented in partnership with New York Opera Society.
