Erato Chamber Orcestra - Baroque for Christmas at the Chicago History Museum Baroque favorites and various holiday tunes The Erato Chamber Orchestra is comprised of Chicago’s finest musicians who have a common affection for making and sharing music. The ensemble’s programs are devoted to both classical and contemporary repertoire that is not ordinarily played by large symphony orchestras. Their name is inspired by the Greek goddess Erato, who is the Muse of Lyric Poetry. These great musicians have donated their talent and time for the cause of Cuba Hurricane Relief efforts. Between August 30 and September 9, 2008, the combined action of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike unquestionably made them the most destructive in the history of Cuba with respect to the magnitude of the material damage caused. After this season's devastating hurricane, Chicagoans are responding to collect donations to benefit Cuban and Haitian hurricane relief projects. All proceeds of this concert will be used for hurricane relief and reconstruction in Cuba.
