Directed by British baroque violinist, Garry Clarke, Baroque Band are ‘a stylish and exciting period-instrument ensemble’ (Chicago Tribune) who have made an immediate impact on the Chicago music scene. Jennifer Ellis is one of America’s leading early music singers and has sung with the Washington Bach Consort, the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, and the New York Collegium with Andrew Parrott conducting. Her international career has included appearances with the period instrument groups American Bach Soloists, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Santa Fe Pro Musica, Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Opera Lafayette, Musica Angelica, Magnificat, and Washington Cathedral Choral Society. Handel’s in a Rage includes two of the composers fiery Italian cantata’s: Tu Fedel? Tu costante? and Armida abbandonata ; the concerti grossi Op. 6, No. 1 in G Major, and No. 7 in B flat Major and the overtures to Semele and Xerxes. |
